October 7th through the 18th, researchers from LSTS visited MBARI to participate in CANON (http://www.mbari.org/canon/default.htm) field experiments. Significantly this involved an LSTS Xtreme 2 AUV and associated communication gear being deployed in near shore waters in Monterey Bay along with other assets including ships and AUVs from MBARI. 

LSTS and MBARI are once again joining forces during the CANON experiment at Monterey Bay, California.

REP 13 (Rapid Environment Picture), a yearly exercise, brought together this time, the Portuguese Navy, LSTS - FEUP and members of the Autonomous Systems group at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), Moss Landing, California, to an extensive exercise which put to test all the capabilities of all vehicles.

From 7th  to 19th  July, around Sesimbra and Setubal areas, our vehicle preformed several surveys above and underwater. 

The LSTS was present at "Fórum do Mar 2013" (http://www.forumdomar.exponor.pt/), an event organized by AEP (Portuguese Entrepreneurial Association) and Oceano XXI (Association for the Knowledge and Economy of the Sea). This event was held in Oporto, Portugal and was targeted at professionals working in the different sectors that make up the sea economy, the scientific community, and the general public.
