Doris project update
The Doris project objective is to develop a modular autonomous surface vehicle (ASV), capable to sample the sea surface micro-layer (SML) and perform analysis of surfactant films and the biological communities residing within the micro-layer.
Following the kick-off meeting last July, the members of the DORIS project convened at FCUP for a progress report.
Having spent the last 6 months working on the requirements and planning the necessary steps for fulfilling the project, the LSTS team presented conceptual design ideas for the micro-layer sampler and discussed the logistics for future deployments. Our partners also contributed with their expertise and the necessary tasks for the next 6 months were distributed.
The DORIS project is progressing as planned and we are working hard to test the first prototypes by the end of August.
